William Edward McKinzie, age 84, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at his residence near Columbia City, Indiana. Mr. McKinzie was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 23, 1934 to the late William Oscar McKinzie and Helen Irene (Amons) McKinzie. He graduated from Coesse High School in 1952 and entered into the United States Army where he honorably served his country from 1956–1962. He married Lillian Marie Fogleson on December 28, 1960 (the same day of his burial) in Columbia City, Indiana. The couple were married 58 years and affectionately known as “Bill-N-Lil”. He was employed as a truck mechanic with International Harvester for 30 years and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 57, Fort Wayne. He loved anything that was International Harvester, especially the Harvester Scout.

Wife, Lillian McKinzie of Columbia City.
Daughter, Trina and Jon Rutledge of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Son, William McKinzie, Jr. of Columbia City.
Daughter, Linda Shaw of Fort Wayne.
8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Brother, Donald McKinzie of Columbia City.
Sister, Barbara and Rex Roberson of Cleveland, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Pamela Zent; and sister, Phyllis Snyder.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at New Heights Baptist Church, 1816 Klug Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at New Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Lovens officiating.
Burial with military honors will take place at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home or New Heights Baptist Church.
