Winifred Parvu Obituary

Winifred Parvu, age 90, of Kendallville, died Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. Mrs. Parvu was born September 28, 1928 in Sheridan, Indiana to Noble and Ilo (Pritsch) Waitt. She married James Hammer on July 25, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1975. In 1980, she married John Parvu who preceded her in death as well in 1998. She graduated from IUPU Indianapolis in 1970 with a nursing degree. She was a registered nurse at McCray Hospital and the East Noble School Corporation before retiring in 1994. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville.

Survivors include:
Daughter, Marie and Doug Hanes of Kendallville.
Son, Dale and Cheri Hammer of Carmel, Indiana.
Son, Joe Hammer and John Howish of Indianapolis and Nantucket, Massachusetts.
Son, Ted and Valerie Hammer of Long Beach, Mississippi.
7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Brother, Walter Waitt of Greenfield, Indiana.

No funeral services scheduled. Arrangements by Hite Funeral Home.
