Allene (Stidham) Salisbury, age 77, of Kendallville, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at home. Mrs. Salisbury was born in Napfor holler, near Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Morris Stidham and Grace (Morris) Stidham. She married Gordon Salisbury on January 20, 1968, in Brimfield, Indiana. Gordon preceded her in death on January 14, 2026. Allene was a devoted wife, loving homemaker and dedicated mother. She and Gordon shared a remarkable bond and were rarely apart, doing nearly everything together. They're enduring love and companionship were the foundation of a life well lived. Allene especially cherished time with her family and created countless treasured memories with those she loved most. She was deeply loved and will be forever in our hearts.
Survivors include:
Son, Michael and Carolyn Salisbury of Kendallville.
Daughter, Melissa and James Chorenpenning of Kendallville.
Four grandchildren: Kendra and Tom Kracium of Fort Wayne; Kimberly and William Hudnall, III, of Brimfield; Grace and Jeff Aeschlimann of Lincolnville, Maine; and Nicholas and Sabrina Chorpenning of Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Six great grandchildren: Kennedy Kracium, Blake Kracium, Tucker Robinson, Tysen Stidham, Vera Aeschlinmann, Aiden Walker, and Brinley Chorpenning.
Brother, Vernon Stidham of Michigan.
Sister, Audrey Neace of Hazard, Kentucky.
Allene was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Grace Stidham; her husband, Gordon "Nut" Salisbury; sisters, Hagar Owens, Geraldine Hoskins, Geneva Sizemore, and Mary Sizemore; brothers, Morris Stidham, Marshall Stidham, Roy Stidham, and Donnie Stidham.
Visitation and funeral services will both be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Visitation will take place from 3:00 - 6:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM with Rev. Charles Mosley officiating the service. Memorial donations may be made in Allene's honor to Noble County Humane Shelter or Stillwater Hospice.
