Barbara Briggs Obituary

Barbara Lou Briggs, age 88, of Fort Wayne, died January 4, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Briggs was born in Akron, Ohio on June 7, 1932 to the late Thomas Edward and Ruby Marie (Meaders) Nicholson. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1951 and married Elmer Junior Briggs in 1952 in Akron, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 2018. Barbara moved with her husband to Fort Wayne in 1954 and she was a homemaker. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in New Haven where she was the church secretary and Sunday school teacher. She and Elmer loved to play golf and card games. 

Survivors include:
Daughter, Patrice and Jim Cecchin of Gurnee, Illinois.
Daughter, Renee Przybylski.
Five grandchildren: Alyssa Cecchin, Elizabeth Cecchin, Kira Przybylski, Lydia Przybylski, and Steven Przybylski.
Brother, Walter and Margie Nicholson of Akron, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Eddleman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 1716 Werling Road, New Haven with calling one hour prior to the service. Pastor David Trimble will officiate the funeral service.
Burial will follow the service at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
Memorial donations may be made to the youth fund at First Baptist Church.
