Billy Joe Weidner, 67, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Wabash, Indiana. Born on November 19, 1956, in Tipton County, Indiana, Billy Joe was a lifelong resident of Indiana and cherished member of his community.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elida as well as his child Bridgett (Einar) Hagen and his granddaughter Hannah or as he called her Sweet Pea, his brother Steve (Kathy) Weidner, Rick (Sandy) Weidner and sister Nancy Weibel.
Billy Joe was a proud alumnus of Southwood High School and later dedicated many years to the Heartland Career Center, where he contributed significantly to the vocational program and was the head of maintenance.
His love and allegiance were for the Wabash Apostolic Church, where his family are active members.
Billy Joe had a rich and diverse range of hobbies. He was a respected former ISHAA official for football and basketball, an avid fisherman, and a talented singer. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, taking relaxing country drives, and sharing his love for the outdoors and music with friends and family. But most of all he had the BEST stories!
A service to celebrate Billy Joe's life will be held on July 27th at the Wabash Apostolic Church at 11am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to his GoFundMe page, set up by his daughter to relieve the financial burden of his passing.
Billy Joe's legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
