Bob Tenney

Robert G. (Bob) Tenney, 82, died peacefully at home on January 13, 2022 at 7:15pm.  He was born on February 14, 1939 to Woodrow W. Tenney and Edwina Bell Tenney.  He married Georgia Becker on December 28, 1968.  She survives.

Bob lived most of his life in the Pierceton area and graduated from Pierceton High School in 1957.  He served his Country in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict, however he spend his time in Germany.  He drove truck for over 20 years and retired from Whitko School Corporation as a custodian.  He loved his family and especially loved watching his kids, grandkids and great grandkids in any sport in which they were involved.  He and Georgia enjoyed all Whitko sports until he could no longer get to the games.

Surviving are sons James R. Tenney, and Richard W. (Shannon) Tenney and daughter Leslie K. (Troy) Stapleton.  Also surviving are 3 sisters, Charlene Clements, Mary Jane Layton and Judith Tenney.  He loved his 11 grandkids and 13 great grandkids and several nieces and nephews.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Payton Tenney

Bob had a servant heart.  He loved helping anybody that needed help in the Pierceton area.  He volunteered many hours at the Washington Township/Pierceton Food Pantry.  He referred to it as his second home.  He was a member of the Pierceton American Legion, Pierceton Masonic Lodge, Kosciusko County Shrine and the Pierceton Lions Club.  He made several trips to Mexico on eyeglass mission trips with District 25G Lions.  He was a longtime member of the Pierceton United Methodist Church and enjoyed many friendships there.  

A celebration of life service will be held at the Pierceton United Methodist Church on January 30, 2022 at 2:00pm with a social time following in the church fellowship room.  

Donations can be made in Bob’s name to Kosciusko Home Health Care and Hospice or Pierceton United Methodist Church. 

Bob will be interred at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana at a later date.
