Brenda Elaine Lewis, age 68, of Fort Wayne, died March 10, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Brenda was born in Roanoke, Indiana on October 15, 1952 to the late Rex and Faye Belle (Craig) Hughes. She graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1971. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Indiana Wesleyan University and received a master’s degree also from Indiana Wesleyan University. Brenda married Ward Rinehart Lewis in Jonesboro, Indiana. They have lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Brenda was a licensed nursing home administrator and owned Lewis Interim Services. Her service earned state and national recognition for excellence in administrative services. She was also an ordained deaconess with the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include:
Husband, Ward Lewis of Fort Wayne.
Son, Daniel and Valerie Lewis of Fort Wayne.
Son, Matthew Lewis of Tampa, Florida.
Two grandchildren: Sara (Lewis) Rogers and Benjamin Lewis of Fort Wayne.
Two great grandchildren: Eleanor and Emilia Rogers.
Brother, David Hughes of Zephyrhills, Florida.
Brother, Randy Hughes of Marion, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Nancy Chen; and a brother, Michael Hughes.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00PM at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 8611 Mayhew Road, Fort Wayne with visitation at 1:00PM prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.
