Carolyn (Beck) Roby

Carolyn Sue (Beck) Roby, Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on November 30, 2021. Mrs. Roby, widow of Edgar B. Roby, formerly Magnavox Corporation Government Division and US Navy Corpsman, was born March 15,1938 in Whitley County, Indiana and attended Washington Center School, Columbia City Joint High School (class of '56), and Manchester College (elementary education).

Carolyn was an award-winning home economics student (a local winner of Homemakers of Tomorrow, 1956), Whitley County 4-H member for nine years, served three years as Washington Township 4-H leader; and was member of Laud Christian Church (where they married in 1959), and Anthony Wayne Church of God (Fort Wayne).
 
She was one of eleven children born to Ruth D. (Wilson) and Gerald S. Beck, on a dairy farm outside Columbia City, Indiana and is survived by children; Jeffrey Roby, Christopher Roby, and Cynthia (Roby) Murphy; siblings Bonnie (Beck) Hollenbaugh, Marilyn (Beck) King, Jerry, Larry, Rex, and Gary Beck; preceded in death by sisters Mary (Beck) Weybright and Donna Beck, brothers Richard and Robert Beck, and daughter Michele (Roby) Eastman.

The Robys have been residents of Country Club Gardens addition, Times Corner, Fort Wayne, fifty-seven years, and Carolyn was locally known for sewing alterations services, cake baking creations, girl & boy scout leading, and private daycare services. She enjoyed being a homemaker, mother of four, grandmother of six and great-grandmother of six.
