Cheryl (Thompson) Hitzemann, 68, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021. Born on May 20, 1952, she was the daughter of the late George and Leona (Witte) Thompson. Semi-retired, Cheryl was an antique dealer. Having received her Bachelor’s Degree from IPFW, previous employment included paralegal work and the VA Hospital in Ft. Wayne. She was active with NE Indiana Central Labor Council and was an environmental activist with Dump Stoppers of Allen County. She is survived by Gary Darnell the ‘Love of Her Life’ and siblings: Judith (Phil) White of New Haven, Bonnie Metcalf of San Diego, CA, Richard (Sue) Thompson of Terre Haute, Gloria (Desi) Santanna of Richland, WA, Phillip Thompson of Fort Wayne, Timothy Thompson of Fort Wayne, Victoria (Allen) Hauser of Morenci, MI and 12 nieces/nephews, 17 great nieces/nephews, 1 great-great niece. Private memorial services will be held for immediate family only. Preferred memorial contribution Associated Churches of Ft Wayne & Allen County (designate Neighborhood Food Network).
