Charles Lee "Chuck" Nesbitt, age 90, of Avilla, passed away August 9, 2024, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. Charles was born in Kendallville, Indiana on December 13, 1933, to the late Clyde and Mamie Nesbitt. He married Loretta Kay DeLong on February 25, 1966, at the old Methodist Church in Avilla. Chuck worked hard all his life in order to provide for his family. He was employed by Flint & Walling and McIntosh. He retired in 1995 from MascoTech Stamping Technologies in Kendallville. Chuck enjoyed mowing grass at Cobblestone and playing golf. He loved woodworking, taking care of his yard at home, and working on his tractors. He loved his kids and grandkids and always looked forward to spending time with his family.

Wife, Loretta Kay (DeLong) Nesbitt of Avilla.
Son, Randy Nesbitt and his companion, Deanna Baker, both of Stienbarger Lake near Wawaka.
Son, John and Laraine Nesbitt of Avilla.
Son-iin-law, Cordell Combs of Cosperville.
Seven grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Brother, Keith and Doris Nesbitt of Albion.
Brother-in-law, Robert DeLong of Big Turkey Lake near Stroh.
Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Jane DeLong of Auburn.
Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hugh and Ramonda DeLong of Albion.
Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Sherri DeLong of Churubusco.
Sister-in-law, Diana Morse of Kendallville.
Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Combs; brothers-in-law, Amos Harold DeLong, Dale DeLong and Thomas Morse; sister-in-law, Carolyn (DeLong) Lash.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Pastor David Bolen will officiate the memorial service. Following the service, there will be a meal served that all are welcome to attend.
A simple burial service will take place at a later date at Sweet Cemetery near Albion.
