Cynthia Ann “Cynde” Barkley, age 58, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at her home in Lisbon, Indiana.  Mrs. Barkley was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 23, 1960 to the late Dale Thomas Swihart and Wanda Eileen (France) Swihart.  She graduated from Homestead High School and moved to the Kendallville area 30 years ago.  She married Steven Douglas Barkley on December 26, 1981 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Cynde was the food service director for the East Noble School Corporation and member of the Maple Grove Church in Topeka.

Survivors include:
Husband, Steve Barkley of Kendallville. 
Daughter, Jennifer and Richard Combs of Angola.
Daughter, Pamela Barkley of Kendallville.
Two grandsons: Wyatt Combs and Krew Combs.
Sister, Mary and John Burelison of Fort Wayne.
Sister, Holly Swihart of Fort Wayne.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Susan Swihart.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home.
Pastor Jason Gingrich will officiate the funeral service.
Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
Memorial donations may be made to Maple Grove Church.
