Daniel Carey

Daniel John Carey, age 67, of New Haven and Fort Wayne, died July 16, 2020 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Dan was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 26, 1953 to the late Clyde Joseph Carey and Ester Emma (Topp) Carey. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. 

Survivors include:
Wife, Sherrill Lynn "Sherry" (Pettit) Carey of Fort Wayne.
Stepchildren; Jason and Val Sundquist of Fort Wayne and Christopher Lee Pettit and Sebina Huestic of Fort Wayne.
Three step grandchildren; Cobe Pettit, Jordan Pettit and Aiden Pettit. 
Brother, Denny and Joy Carey of Anderson.
Sister, Donna Mae Thomas of Fort Wayne.
Sister-in-law, Kathy Rowe of Angola.
Sister-in-law, Cindy Wable of Woodburn.
Sister-in-law, Katrina and Mark Frederick of Fort Wayne.
Brother-in-law, Mike Pettit of Fort Wayne.
Brother-in-law, Jon Pettit of Connersville.
Brother-in-law, Steve and Becky Pettit of Goshen.
Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Francis Jerome Topp and Richard LeRoy Carey; two sisters, Norma Slauf and Kitty Shearer; brothers-in-law, Wayne Shearer and Kevin Rowe.

Burial with military honors will take place later at Marion National Cemetery.
