David Glenn Heffley, age 77, of rural Corunna, passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2024, outside at home doing what he loved to do with his dog by his side. David was born May 1, 1947, to the late Raymond and Maxine (Houser) Heffley. He graduated from high school and entered into the United States Army. He honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. He married Bethany Jo Thomas on November 27, 1998, in Altona, Indiana. David was a farmer and construction worker. He retired from Scheek Steel in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, puzzles and spending time with his family.
Survivors include:
Wife, Bethany Heffley of Corunna.
Three sons, Matthew Heffley of Auburn, Patrick (Geraldine) Heffley of Auburn, and Jonathan Heffley.
Stepdaughter, Heather (Travis) Springer of Waterloo.
Stepson, Lance Norton of Angola.
Sister, Diane (Bob) Ostheim of Auburn.
Two brothers, Denny Heffley of Auburn and Jerry (Clodine) Heffley of Auburn.
Grandchildren: Daimon Heffley, Kaci (Bryce) Yoder, Maddisyn Heffley, Davin Heffley, Lizabeth Swonger, Haydin Heffley, Katelynn Swonger, and Kenneth Norton.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marsha Ritter.
A celebration of David's life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be sent to Disabled Veterans of America.
