Dirk Renkenberger

Dirk Roderick Renkenberger, age 69, of Kendallville, passed away Saturday March 7, 2026, peacefully at his home. Dirk was born in Kendallville, Indiana, on October 2, 1956, at McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville to James Hiram Renkenberger and Judith Ann (Crowl) Renkenberger. He married Pamela Sue Becker in August of 1982 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. 

Dirk's family always came first especially his wife, kids, and grandkids. He was also a very loyal friend to many. Dirk was a very boisterous man! We could write a book series about him, for REAL!!
He enjoyed spending time with his family, nature, gardening, music, taking care of his animals, attending grandchildren's many events, war games and most of all his adventures in the great outdoors. 

He was employed at Colwell until his retirement. In his younger years he played weekend gigs as a drummer with several Rock-N-Roll bands. 

Survivors include:
His devoted, beautiful, and loving wife Pamela Renkenberger, his mother Judith Renkenberger, daughter's Destiny Jimenez, Constance (Thea) Renkenberger-Lamb, and Sierra (Justin) Cain.
Step-Sons Joshua (Heather) Molen and Ian (Jenny) Molen.
Grandchildren Aliyah & Alan Jimenez, Nevin & Madison Cain, Trevor, Alexandria, Elizabeth, Jordan, Avin, Kylie, and Braxton Molen.
He had 7 great grandchildren. 
Surviving siblings include:
Jody (Randy) Anglin, Barron (Tina) Renkenberger, and Valerie Strycker. He was also adored and loved by many nieces and nephews.

A private viewing was held for immediate family on Tuesday March 10th. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 24th at the Kiwanis pavilion on the east side of Bixler lake Park from 2:00 - 6:00. Please feel free to stop by anytime. 

The family would also like to thank all who have been there to help us along this difficult journey. 

The bear has gone over the mountain to see the other side.
