Don Buckles

Donald Eugene Buckles, age 80, of Avilla, died Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville. Mr. Buckles was born in Columbia City, Indiana on September 21, 1942 to the late Russell Buckles and Lavina (Owen) Maulsby. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1961-1964. He married Bethel Patrick on September 22, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Avilla. Don was employed by General Electric in Fort Wayne for many years. 

Survivors include:
His wife, Bethel Buckles of Avilla.
Son, Gary Buckles of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Kathy Scheckles of Fremont.
Daughter, Adella and Austin Babb of Columbia City.
Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Brother, James Buckles of Kendallville.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, George and Paul Buckles. 

Burial with military honors will take place at a later date at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
