Don Buckmaster

Donald Charles Buckmaster, age 79, of Hoagland, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home. Mr. Buckmaster was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on August 7, 1944 to the late Charles Melvin Buckmaster and Lucy Veora (Wilkins) Buckmaster. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Connie Jean Bullerman on June 1, 1968 in Monroeville, Indiana and she survives him. Don was employed for 30 plus years with Zoellner Piston in Fort Wayne. After he retired from Zoellner, he went to work with H&W Tool in New Haven for 15 years. Don was a member of Hoagland Community Church and the Monroeville American Legion Post 420. He loved his family and grandchildren deeply and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include:
Wife, Connie Buckmaster of Hoagland.
Son, Pastor Todd and Heather Buckmaster of Hoagland.
Daughter, Kelly and Doug Shinabery of Decatur.
Daughter, Tracey Piering of Fort Wayne.
Nine grandchildren: Clay (Victoria) Buckmaster of Hoagland, Jaden Buckmaster of New Haven, Kaile Buckmaster of Hoagland, Rylie Buckmaster of Hoagland, Mason Shinabery of Decatur, Payton Shinabery of Decatur, Katie Graham of Indianapolis, Isaiah Graham of Fort Wayne, and Levi Graham of Fort Wayne. Also, two great grandchildren, Cooper Buckmaster and MaryBeth Buckmaster. 
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dennis Buckmaster. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM and 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Fellowship Missionary Church, 2536 East Tillman Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana and one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Missionary Church with Pastor Todd Buckmaster officiating.

Burial with military honors will take place at Monroeville Cemetery, Monroeville.

Memorial donations may be made to Hoagland Community Church or Honor Flight of NE Indiana.
