Douglas Eugene Aker, age 42, of Wolcottville, passed away on September 18, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Doug was born in Kendallville, Indiana on March 15, 1982, to Randy Lou Chilcote and Mary Beth (Saunders) Chilcote. He was employed by Snyder Food Service in Kendallville. He married Melissa Rae Clevenger on June 26, 2014, in South Milford. Doug was an avid Chicago Bears football and Chicago Cubs baseball fan. He loved his babies, and he was the best daddy.

Wife, Melissa Aker of Wolcottville.
Daughter, Selena and Derek Gibson of Auburn.
Daughter, Ashley and Landon Schloot of Auburn.
Son, Daniel and Miranda Anway of Kendallville.
Son, Leland Harper of Kendallville.
Son, Anthony Aker of Bristol, Indiana.
Son, Nathaniel Harper of Wolcottville.
Son, Jacob Harper of Wolcottville.
Daughter, Clarissa Aker of Wolcottville.
Daughter, Anastasia Aker of Wolcottville.
Son, Grayson Aker of Wolcottville.
Four grandchildren: Kohen Schloot, Anthony Harper, Mona Lynn Anway, and Kash Anway.
Parents, Randy and Mary Chilcote of Fort Wayne.
Brother, Robert and Noel Aker of Fort Wayne.
Brother, Adam and Shawnna Chilcote of Fort Wayne.
Sister, Kelly Chilcote of Jefferson City, Tennessee. 

Doug was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Rose Harper and grandparents, Lewis and Ruth Aker. 

Visitation will be held Monday, September 23, 2024, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Bolen officiating.
Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City. 
Casket bearers will be Daniel Anway, Leland Harper, Nathaniel Harper, Robert Aker, Adam Chilcote, and Gavin Aker.  Honorary bearers are Harold Harper and Ethan Aker.
