Gary Rogers

Gary Lee Rogers, age 66, of Kendallville, died unexpectedly January 19, 2024 at his home. Gary went to see his parents, Jesse and Helen; his two brothers, Larry Rogers and Jerry Rogers, and sure he’s hoping for some of his hair. Gary was born in Kendallville, Indiana on October 11, 1957 to the late Jesse Rogers and Helen Maxine (Truelove) Rogers. He was a lifelong resident of Kendallville. 

Everyone knew Gary, but if you didn’t give him a second you would! He graduated from East Noble High School in 1975. This may be hard for some to believe, but when Gary was younger, he did missionary work and smuggled bibles into communist China. 

He made a living as a tool and die maker and he was employed for 30 years with Symmetry Medical in Avilla before it closed in 2015. He also owned and operated his own tool and die business. Gary was currently employed with Advanced Auto in Kendallville.  

His absolute favorite accomplishment though was having two amazing girls, Jessica Rogers and Hadassah Rogers. Then came along his grandson, Jaxxin Martin and we were brought back to reality! Thank goodness that boy is cute! 
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and, believe it or not, many friends to hang out here till it was our turn to go. Yes, I’m sure he would say…You’re welcome! 

His wishes were to be cremated because it was last chance for him to ever be smoking hot! The family plans to have a memorial service at later date although at this time he will not be having a service. (obituary written by Jessica Rogers)
