Gerald "Bud" Downing

Gerald MacArthur "Bud" Downing, age 81, of Marion, Indiana, passed away May 26, 2024, at his home. Gerald was born in Marion, Indiana on October 26, 1942, to the late Gerald M. Downing and Adeline (Huffman) Downing. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1964-1966. He married Nancy Mossburg on March 9, 1968, in Warren, Indiana and she preceded him in death in 2012. Gerald was employed for 35 years with GenCorp in Marion, and he was a member of the American Legion.   

Survivors include:
Daughter, Angela and Scott Baker of Jonesboro, Indiana.
Son, Gerald Robert and Dawn Downing of Swayzee, Indiana.
Son, James Downing of Greentown, Indiana.
Grandchildren: Abigail Maddox, Seth Maddox, Dalton Downing, Mikenna Downing, Pheonyx Downing, and Dustin Diskey.
Great grandchildren: Asher Weller, Aiden Weller, Autumn Weller, Ava Weller, Andrew Diskey and Cash Diskey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy; and a sister, Norma Sproat. 

A celebration of Gerald's life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM in the dining hall at Fairmount Wesleyan Camp, 711 East 900 South, Fairmount, Indiana 46928.
