Jack Meyer Obituary

Jack Rodney Meyer, age 76, of New Haven, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at his residence.  Mr. Meyer was born on April 15, 1942, in Decatur, Indiana to Paul Frederick and Irene I. (McClure) Meyer.  He graduated from Decatur Catholic High School.  Jack served his country honorably with the United States Navy.  He married Shirley Ann Guptil on September 12, 1975. Jack worked as an industrial laborer until retirement in 2003.  He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing poker, and pool.  
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three daughters; Carla Meyer of Fort Wayne, Colette Meyer of Monroeville, and Amanda (Mark) Harris of Churubusco. Three step children; Jeff (Mandy) Johnston of Deland, Florida, Kristy (Kirk) Hemstalk of Oroville, California, and Greg (Jackie) Johnston of Rathdrum, Idaho. 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Jim Meyer of Mesa, Arizona and Mike Meyer of Henderson, Nevada and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by four siblings; Pat Braun, Jenny Heimann, Carolyn Case, and Tom Meyer.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM with calling one-hour prior from 9:00 -10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Decatur, Indiana 46733.
Officiating the mass will be Father Dave Ruppert.
Memorial donations may be directed to Visiting Nurse Hospice.
