Jason Cornell

Jason Michael Cornell, age 48, of Kendallville, passed away August 11, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne. Jason was born in Monroe, Michigan to late Richard James Cornell, Sr. and Phyllis Marie (Hyden) Cornell. He married Susan Lorraine Frick on May 17, 2003, in Monroe, Michigan. She preceded him in death on December 5, 2023. Jason was employed by Nelson Tree Service. Jason loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, hunting and Derby racing. He always used the race numbers 513 or 517. Trailer Park boys was his favorite TV show. He was the best Grampy to Macy and Kinsleigh.

He is survived by his children, McKenzy (Chase) McCollough of Belleville Illinois; Shane Cornell of Newport Michigan; Mikayla Evans of Kendallville, Indiana and Conner Cornell of Kendallville.
Five brothers survive, Randy Cornell, Tim Cornell, Jeff Cornell, Brian Cornell, and Mark Cornell.
One sister, Kathy Willets.
His campground family meant the world to him, especially Chris Korte.
His girlfriend, Megan Mayberry, came into his life for a brief, but very important time of his life becoming part of the family. 

Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Phyllis Cornell; his, wife Susan (Frick) Cornell; and a brother Rick Cornell. 

A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date at Indian Springs Campground near Garrett.
