Gerald Phillip Pettit - October 5, 1933 - August 31, 2024
Jerry Pettit, age 90, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours on Saturday, August 31st. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather to many!
He is survived by:
Daughter: Sherrill Carey of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Cindy Wable of Woodburn.
Daughter, Kathleen Rowe of Angola.
Daughter, Katrina (Mark) Frederick of Fort Wayne.
Son, Mike (Laurie) Pettit of Fort Wayne.
Son, Jon Pettit of Glenwood.
Son, Steve (Becky) Pettit of Goshen.
18 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren!
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Geraldine; his sisters, Mary Lou Berry and Anne Therese Pettit; his brothers, Ted Pettit, Jim Pettit, and Harvey Pettit; his first wife and mother of his children, Jeanene Roth; and his wife, Gerrie; as well as his sons-in-law, Daniel Carey and Kevin Rowe; his great grandsons, Coltyn Rowe and Wyatt Rowe; and great granddaughter, Rayonah Gonzalez.
There will be a Celebration of Life with military honors, followed by a meal for all who care to join, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Empower Church, 9228 Hicksville-Edgerton Road, Hicksville, Ohio. Gathering of family and friends will begin at 11:00 AM followed by military honors and a memorial service at 12:00 noon.
