Jewel (Burelison) Norris

Jewel Eilene Norris, age 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Heritage Point, Fort Wayne. Mrs. Norris was born at home near Muncie, Indiana on July 26, 1934 to the late Charles LeRoy and Edna Louise (Harris) Burelison. She graduated from Center High School in 1952 and married James Keith Norris on January 2, 1953. Jim preceded her in death on March 14, 2015. Jewel worked alongside her husband as the bookkeeper of the many business ventures they owned over the years. She was a member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Fort Wayne. Jewel enjoyed working in the kitchen and was an excellent cook. She always enjoyed feeding friends and family. Jewel was known for her homemade chili, which she won an award. Another recipe that she loved making and sharing with family and friends was chocolate fudge. There were very few family gatherings that did not include mom’s fudge. Most importantly, Jewel was committed to serving Christ, her Savior and reflecting God’s love and redeeming grace.

Son, Lonnie and Connie Norris of Huntertown.
Daughter, Connie and Larry Sheets of Columbia City.
Son, Timothy and Kristi Norris of Huntertown.
Daughter, Kimberly and Rodney Penrod of Berne.
19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Sister, Marsha Johnson of Indianapolis.
Sister, Rachael Bell of Fort Wayne.
Sister, Charlotte Beals of South Bend.
Sister, Ginny Richardson of Noblesville.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Nelson. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Norris will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 8611 Mayhew Road, Fort Wayne with visitation at 10:00 AM prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Leo Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Grace Point Church for mission work in Ukraine.
