Joe Bowers Obituary

Joseph Michael Bowers, age 78, of Kendallville, died February 6, 2024 at his home following a battle with cancer. Joe was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 28, 1945 to the late Raymond Franklin Bowers and Lillian Pearl (Watson) Bowers. He was a ranger in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division, during the Vietnam War. Joe worked as a property management consultant in Colorado and he owned a car lot for a short time. He also was county deputy sheriff in Wyoming. He was married to Peggy Myers.

Survivors include:
Son, Joel Michael Bowers and his partner, Grace Bramlett of Kendallville.
Son, Richard and Sara Bowers of Kendallville.
Daughter, Tammie Bowers and her partner, Steve Johnson of North Manchester.
Daughter, Karen Bowers of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Five grandchildren: Jo Bowers, Danielle Ray, Kelley Bowers, Aaron Johnson, and Chandler Sunderland-Bowers.
Five great grandchildren also survive.
Sister, Martha Bowers.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lillian Bowers; sister, Deloris and brothers, Raymond “Sonny” Jr. and Jan Bowers.

A memorial service to honor Joe's life will be held at a later date to be announced.
