John Vernon Stuber, age 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his daughter's residence in Fort Wayne. Mr. Stuber was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 5, 1939, to the late Clarence and Lois E. (Cobb) Yoquelet. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1956-1958. John was a self-employed construction contractor. He was a member of the Eagles and V.F.W. and he enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include:
Daughter, Beatrice and Buzz Swank of Fort Wayne.
Son, Matthew and Jenny Davey of Arlington, Texas.
Four granddaughters: Mary Capps, Karen Michels, Richelle Capps and Leslie (Alex) Herbst all of Fort Wayne.
Two brothers, Mike and Sue Yoquelet of Tucson, Arizona and Milton and Roxanne Yoquelet of Englewood, Florida.
Two sisters, Ramona Yoquelet Kennedy of Fort Wayne and Charmayne Yoquelet Houston.
Companion and friend, Jo Pattison of Fort Wayne.
John was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Stuber and a brother, Patrick Yoquelet.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Eagles Lodge, 2730 Lofty Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana with visitation at 11:00 AM prior to the service.
Burial with military honors will take place at Odd Fellow IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
Memorial donations may be made to Stillwater Hospice.
