Joseph George Shomo, age 71, of Wolcottville, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home. Joseph was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 17, 1952, to the late George Milton and Marjorie Ellen (Wehmeyer) Shomo. He graduated in 1971 from South Side High School and went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Air Force. Joe was an employee of Flint & Walling for most of his career. He was a talented musician. He loved playing his guitar, writing and recording music. Joe loved the Pittsburgh Steelers but most of all his love went to his dog Foxy.
Survivors include:
Daughter, Kristina “Tina” and Shawn Reinoehl of Kendallville.
Daughter, Claire Shomo
Grandchildren, Aspen Reinoehl, Carson Reinoehl, Noah Reinoehl and Torrance Bennett.
Sister, Judy Shomo of South Whitley.
Sister, Joyce Marks of Big Long Lake.
Nieces and nephews, to whom he was very close, Steve Bade, Rick Bade, Amy Hasselman and Dawn Parker.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Shomo and brother-in-law, Rick Marks.
