Karl Smallwood

Karl Edward Smallwood, age 64, of Kendallville, passed away December 29, 2025, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. Karl was born in McDowell, Kentucky, on October 9, 1961, to the late Arthur and Nevil (Johnson) Smallwood. He was a supervisor with Morgan Olson in Sturgis, Michigan. Karl married Kendra Lynn Smith on June 25, 2015, in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Survivors include:
Wife, Kendra Smith of Kendallville.
Son, Thomas and Ashley Smallwood of Sturgis, Michigan. 
Daughter, Karlie and Nicholas Mastrogiuseppe of Gilberts, Illinois.
Son, Nic Smallwood of Virginia.
Four grandchildren. 
Sisters: Verna Gitt, Sandy Moore, Glema Norris, Birdenna (Rich) Smith, Angie (George) Jenkot, Paula (Matt) Hile, and Marsha (Al) Wyer. 
Brothers, Gus (Julie) Smallwood, Dale Smallwood, Wendall (Tammy) Smallwood, and Morris (Sharon) Smallwood. 

Karl was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bert Smallwood and Hughie Smallwood.  

Funeral services and visitation will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM.
