Larry Matthews

Larry Vince Matthews, age 78, of Monroeville, passed away May 29, 2024, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville. Mr. Matthews was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 3, 1945, to the late Frank and Goldie Matthews. Larry honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed by General Electric, Dana, and Walmart. He married Connie Sue Podolan on November 24, 2001, in Mill Springs, North Carolina.  

Survivors include:
Wife, Connie Matthews of Monroeville.
Daughter, Monique Matthews of Georgia.
Son, Christopher Matthews of Florida.
Stepsons, Nick Ackels and Mike Ackels both of Fort Wayne.
Eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Terry Franklin Matthews, in 2012. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM at American Legion Post 420, 112 East South Street, Monroeville with visitation from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM prior to the service.
Burial with military honors will take place at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Waynedale, Fort Wayne.
