Larry Steffe

Larry Franklin Steffe, age 71, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away Tuesday morning, October 30, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.  Larry was born November 18, 1946 in Garrett, Indiana to the late Junior Franklin Steffe and Donna Jean (Treesh) Steffe.  He graduated from Albion Jefferson High School in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Air Force honorably serving his country from 1965-1969 during the Vietnam War.  He was assigned to the 35th Combat Support Team and stationed a Phan Rang AF Base. Larry was united in marriage to Alberta Slone on December 8, 1979 in Albion, Indiana. He was employed for 22 years with Cooper Tire in Auburn before retiring in 2006.  Larry was a staunch patriot and he loved his country.  He was a member of the Auburn American Legion Post 97 and the National Rifle Association. He supported Wounded Warriors and Riley Hospital for Children. He loved spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, shooting guns, hunting, and fishing.

Survivors include:
Wife, Alberta Steffe of Auburn.
Daughter, Telisha “Tish” Steffe and Dustin Wilcox both of Auburn.
Daughter, Allison Steffe and her fiancé, Walter Baker both of Auburn.
Son, Derek Steffe of Auburn.
Six grandchildren: Raegan Cox, Alexis “Lexi” Cox, Jayden Baker, Trevin Baker, Tanner Steffe, and Anna Steffe. 
Brother, Garry and Teresa Steffe of Akron, Ohio.
Brother, Barry and Brenda Steffe of Ligonier. 
Sister, Pamela Steffe of Auburn.
His dogs, Meika and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Steffe in 1985.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 3:00 -7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home.
Burial with military honors will take place at English Prairie Cemetery of Brighton, Indiana, LaGrange County.
