Lavon M. (Grotrian) Dobbins

Lavon M. Dobbins, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne.  She was born on December 22, 1928 in Monroeville, Indiana to the late Albert and Louise (Koeneman) Grotrian.  Lavon graduated from Hoagland High School and later married Charles A. Dobbins on November 29, 1947 at St. John Lutheran Church in Monroeville. Charles preceded her in death on March 10, 2013. Lavon was always full of energy and a people person who never wanted to miss out on anything. She retired from The Rib Room restaurant, at 85, after serving Fort Wayne's patrons from 1968-2014. Spending time with her family is what she enjoyed the most.

Survivors include:
Son, Steven and Colleen Dobbins of Florida.
Son, David Dobbins of New Haven.
Daughter, Cynthia and Scott Parker of Fort Wayne.
Son, Dennis and Ann Dobbins of Ohio.
Daughter, Tonya and Dave Konow of Fort Wayne.

8 Grandchildren; Teresa (Phil) Blosser, Jennifer (Jason) Gerig, Carrie (Tim) Chapman, Christopher (Nicole) Chapman, Nathan (Jessica) Dobbins, Heather (Jeremy) Cobbs, Ryan (Bianca) Schweyer and Dustin (MaKenna) Schweyer.

13 Great grandchildren and 2 on the way.

Brother, Thomas and Janet Grotrian of Monroeville.
Sister-in-law,  Lois Grotrian of Kokomo.

Lavon was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Ralph Grotrian.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46815.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
