Lucy (Sherman) Miller

Lucy Winston (Sherman) Miller, age 96, of Avilla, died March 3, 2024 at Astral of Auburn. Mrs. Miller was born in Memphis, Tennessee on February 11, 1928 to the late Joe Sherman and Floy May (Wilson) Sherman. She graduated from Southside High School in Fort Wayne and married James Orville Miller, Jr. in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2015. Lucy loved craft making, tending to her garden, working outside in her yard and most important, spending time with her family. She always looked forward to spending winters in Florida. 

Survivors include: 
Son, Jonathan and Charlotte Miller of Avilla.
Son, Matthew and Johanne Miller of Georgia.
Ten grandchildren: Tracey Beck, Jason Miller, Melissa Miller, Lindsey Miller, Nathan Miller, Ryan Miller, Joshua Miller, Matthew Miller, Chelsea Miller and Jessica Miller.  16 great grandchildren also survive. 
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as two sons, Thomas Miller in 2007 and Mark Miller in 2013. 

Private family service and burial will take place Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Avilla.
