Martin McDonald of Kendallville, passed away on August 14, 2025. Martin was born on September 3, 1953, in Wolf Lake to Elizabeth "Betty" (Raubert) Peterson. After graduating from West Noble High School in 1972, he soon married Gloria Stiffner of Ligonier on November 30, 1974. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Martin entered the printing industry, working at R.R. Donnelley for 42 years before retiring from there in 2017. Martin also honorably served the community with 41 years of dedicated service on the Ligonier Fire Department. He also attended South Milford Church of Christ.

Wife, Gloria McDonald of Kendallville.
Son, James (Angie) McDonald of Ligonier.
Son, Paul (Amy) McDonald of Evanston, Illinois.
Son, Barry (Mandy) McDonald of Topeka.
7 Grandchildren: Austin McDonald; Jacelynn McDonald; Paige McDonald; Natalie McDonald; Porter McDonald; Ellis McDonald; and Brooklynn McDonald.
Mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Peterson of Ligonier.
Sister, Barbara (Keith) Leatherman of Albion.
Brother, Frank McDonald of Ligonier.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street, Kendallville. Pastor Brian Walter will officiate the service. Following the funeral service, an Indiana Volunteer Firefighter's Association memorial service will take place to recognize Martin's 41 years of service on the Ligonier Fire Department.
