Mikaela Tish Forker, age 27, of Kendallville, died in a car crash March 12, 2026. Mikaela was born in Auburn, Indiana, on June 15, 1998, to James Lee Smith and Marissa Ranae (Forker) Gonzalez. She was a 2016 East Noble High School graduate and was attending mechanics trade school. She was employed by Goodyear in Fort Wayne as a mechanic. She loved spending time playing with her kids, Viktoria and Ezra, her dog, Gypsy, going fishing, spending time outdoors and being with her family and friends.
Survivors include:
Mother and stepfather, Marissa and Gabriel Gonzalez of Kendallville.
Father, James Smith of Albion.
Stepfather, Brian Rarick of Kendallville.
Her children, Viktoria Forker and Ezra Forker of Kendallville.
Sister, Brooke and Michael Kennedy of Kendallville.
Sister, Paige and Chad Eryman of Washington, DC.
Sister, Neomi Gonzalez of Kendallville.
Sister, Karrah and Justin Marcellus of Kendallville
Sister, Jessica and Gordon Heitkamp of Kendallville.
Brother, Timothy Rarick of Avilla.
Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00 AM prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Sweet Cemetery.
