Nancy Ann (Montieth) Leighty, age 78, of Kendallville, passed away May 1, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Nancy was born in Silvis, Illinois, on August 4, 1947, to the late James Lloyd Montieth and Alice Anna (Benda) Montieth. On September 7, 1968, she married Ronald Lynn Leighty, in Silvis, Illinois. Ron preceded her in death October 20, 2019. Nancy was employed in the past with Taylor Made and Campbell & Fetter Bank. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include:
Son, Scott and Amber Leighty of Albion.
Son, Todd Leighty of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Jill Floyd of Lewisville, Texas.
Son, Chad and Crystal Leighty of Columbia City.
Four grandchildren: Grace Leighty, Avery Leighty, Cayden Leighty, and Camarie Leighty.
Brother, Robert and Pat Montieth of Port Byron, Illinois.
Sister, Patsy and Dan Steelandt of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Sister, Cherie Davis of Jefferson, North Carolina.
Brother, John Montieth and Karl Wolf of Clinton, Iowa.
Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and Terry Hanks of Fort Wayne.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Alice Montieth; her husband, Ron Leighty; brother, Thomas Montieth; brother-in-law, Greg Davis; and mother and father-in-law, Frank and Bondie Leighty. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00 AM prior to the service. 
Burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
