Nannie Mae (Gibson) Handshoe

Nannie Mae Handshoe, age 92, of Kendallville, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville. Mrs. Handshoe was born in Garrett, Kentucky on April 15, 1931 to the late Sebastian "Bass" and Cosby Gibson. She was married to Willie S. Handshoe on March 7, 1953 in Garrett, Kentucky. Willie preceded her in death on July 10, 2005. Nannie was employed with Precision Plastics/Plastomatics in Albion and she was a homemaker. 

Survivors include:
Daughter, Ernestine "Jean" Stanley of Kendallville.
Daughter, Norma Lou (Dallas) Howard Reading, Michigan.
Son, Grayson (Marina) Handshoe of Reading, Michigan.
Daughter, Paula Jean Handshoe of Reading, Michigan.
Son, Hubert (Annie) Handshoe of Reading, Michigan.
Daughter, Alyssa Handshoe of Texas. 
15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Nannie was preceded in death by her parents, Bass and Cosby Gibson; her husband, Willie Handshoe; her son, James Jerry Handshoe on April 29, 2023; and all of her siblings, Jack, Harve, Tobe, Birtchell, Polly, Vaughn, Ethel and Lucready.

Visitation and gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville followed with burial at Orange Cemetery.
