Phyllis J. Doty, 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Born on November 15, 1927 she was the daughter of Ralph and Letha Gray. She graduated from South Side High School in 1946. Following high school, she was employed at International Harvest. While her two children were in school, she worked in the cafeteria at Village Woods Elementary. Over the years you would find her offering free samples to customers in several Fort Wayne grocery stores. Later in life she loved being a volunteer at Parkview Hospital on Randalia Drive delivering flowers to patients. Phyllis and her husband, Robert Doty, took many enjoyable road trips throughout the country. In her final years she loved swimming with friends at the South Side Natatorium. She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church on South Anthony. Surviving is her daughter, Jan (John) Reche of Fort Wayne and her son, Jeffrey Doty of Deerlodge, Montana; three grandchildren, Cara (Rafael) Bonilla of Oak Park, Illinois, Laura (Curt) Gardner of Madison, Indiana and Alex (Sarah) Reche of Fort Wayne, Indiana and four great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Doty, and brother, John Gray. Service is at 11 am on Saturday, March 19 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 S. Anthony Blvd. with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial at Concordia Cemetery Gardens of Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Parkview Hospice.
