Reba (Cabaniss) Tharp

Reba Gayle Tharp, age 91, of Kendallville, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at Lutheran Life Villages. Mrs. Tharp was born in Langston, Alabama on February 6, 1933 to the late William Virgil Cabaniss and Opal Annis (Tanner) Cabaniss. She married LaMar E. Tharp, Sr. in 1957 in Rome, Georgia and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1978. Reba was employed by Ameritech for 33 years before retiring in 1982.

Survivors include:
Daughter, Deborah and Gary Spidel of Sylvan Lake, Rome City, Indiana.
Son, LaMar and Rebecca Tharp, Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Son, Jeffrey and Barbara Tharp of St. John, Indiana.
Son, Charles Tharp and his special companion, Sherri Chastain of Laurel, Indiana.
7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Sister, Virginia Edwards of Section, Alabama.
Reba was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Leland Cabaniss and a granddaughter, Julia Bloom. 

A private family viewing and funeral service will take place in the chapel at Oakland Memory Lanes in Dolton, Illinois on Monday, February 26, 2024 with burial immediately following the service.
