Regina Kaye Mooney, 59, of Kendallville, Indiana, lost her battle with cancer on November 23, 2023. She was born on August 16, 1964, in Connersville, Indiana, to the late Marion Wayne Morgan and Ruthalee Morgan of Union City, Indiana. Regina was the beloved wife of David Mooney (Urbana, IL) and the loving mother of Kaley Mooney (Kendallville, IN) and Zachary Mooney (Greenville, SC). She was also a proud grandmother to Karman Mooney.
Regina dedicated over 30 years of her life to her career at Shepard of The Hill/Lutheran Life Villages of Kendallville, IN. Her passion for nursing and caring for others made a lasting impact on the residents she served and the nurses she worked beside.
In addition to her career, Regina had a zest for life and a heart of gold. Her kindheartedness and stubbornness were qualities that made her unforgettable to all who knew her. Regina found joy in spending time with her children and granddaughter, creating cherished memories with them. Her favorite places to be walking down Main Street at Disney or walking the beach in New Smyrna. She also had a deep love for her sports and her Kid Rock.
Regina’s greatest joy came from spoiling her beloved granddaughter. She loved showering her with love and affection, creating a special bond that will never be forgotten.
Regina Kaye Mooney is survived by her husband, David Mooney, her children Kaley and Zachary Mooney, her granddaughter Karman Mooney, her mother Ruthalee Morgan, and her siblings/sibling-in-laws, along with many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Regina's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be in the form of honoring a nurse you know in her honor.
Regina's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace and may her legacy of stubbornness and love continue to inspire others.
