Robert Smith, age 53, of Kendallville, died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Robert was born in Oahu, Hawaii on March 21, 1965 to Robert Val Smith and Betty Lou (Lyttle) Smith. His father preceded him in death in 2017. Robert graduated from Central Noble High School in 1983 and Indiana State University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s in music education degree. He later went on to obtain a Master’s degree in music education. Robert was employed with the East Noble School Corporation and taught at Avilla Elementary School.
Survivors include:
Mother, Betty Smith and Mike Adkins of Albion.
Sister, Belinda Radcliffe and Randy Peters of Kendallville.
Two nieces, Tiffany and Kenny Pankop of Kendallville and Tera Radcliffe of Kendallville.
Great nieces and nephews, Lilly, Khloe, and Zane; Teagan, Oliver, and Dillinger.
Aunt Roberta and Uncle Brent Elser of Albion.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the multipurpose room at the Avilla Elementary School with visitation an hour prior to the service.
Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.
Memorial donations may be made to the East Noble High School Music Department.
