Robert Sykes

Robert Gene Sykes, age 89, of Columbia City, passed away March 8, 2023 at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. Mr. Sykes was born in Fender, Arkansas on June 11, 1933 to the late William Clyde Sykes and Fanny Orean (Ratliff) Sykes. He honorably served his country in both the United States Army and Navy. He was employed in the past with Benton Harbor Engineering and was married to Loyce Dean (Dunivan) Hicks.

Survivors include:
Daughter, Beverly Walda of Columbia City and her friend, Rick Bair of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Loretta and Herschel Rollins of Tennessee.
Grandchildren, Krystal Maser, Loyce Faye Hoffman and Felecia Rollins, Tiffany Burton and her fiancé, Gabe Bair and William and Kim Burton and their three children. 
Great grandchildren, Jade Slone and Sydney Slone.  
Sister, Cathy and Danny Bowman of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Maser; and his brothers, Leon, Dudley, Bill, Jerry, Junior and Hulen Sykes.

Robert will be buried with military honors on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at North Shore Memorial Gardens, Coloma, Michigan.
