Ronald Cooper Obituary

Remembering Ronald Cooper: A Celebration of a Life Lived on His Own Terms.

Ronald Cooper celebrated his 90th birthday on April 9, 2024, and greeted his divine maker on April 29, 2024. Let's honor his one-of-a-kind journey.

Ronald Cooper, born on April 9, 1934, in Cremo the district of Spencer, in the county of Roane, West Virginia, danced to the beat of his own drum, always guided by his faith in God and the divine, throughout his life. His “book of life” story isn't about sadness, but about celebrating a life lived true to himself.

From a young age, Ronald's fascination with nature and the eternal universe sparked a sense of wonder, leading him to share his wisdom and outlook on life wherever life took him. He found pleasure in engaging in lively debates, through the exchange of ideas and the challenge of defending his viewpoints.

Ronald was a true maverick. He embodied the essence of individuality. Whether he was playing softball, soccer, bowling, golf, or enjoying a spirited card game with friends or family, he excelled at things he was passionate about. His luck with respect to card games in particular was legendary.

Ronald always danced to the rhythm of his own melody, fueled by his love for music. His voice was amazing, and he loved singing his favorite songs for anyone willing to listen. Sci-Fi and Western themed shows and movies always drew him in.

Ronald was always ready to help those around him, giving whatever he could when they needed it most. Ronald often neglected his own needs and desires in favor of helping those around him. His selfless concern for the well-being of others, especially his children, was often demonstrated without expecting anything in return. He worked hard and never backed away from his responsibilities.

Even though Ronald is no longer with us, his memory will endure in the hearts of those he continues to watch over from the stars above, and in the lives he touched with his distinct presence.

Let's pay tribute to him by embracing our own individuality and living authentically, unapologetically, and with pride. As we say our final goodbye to Ronald, let's hold onto the memories that made us laugh, and the moments that made us think. Even though our hearts are broken now, let's take comfort in the legacy he's left us.

Ronald is survived by his two sisters, Olive and Starling, and his children: Wendy, Rick, Cindy, and Chuck. He's also survived by 8 grandchildren: Emily, Matthew, Jamie, Tyler, Mark, Brittany, Cameron, and Spencer, and 5 great-grandchildren: Paige, Emma, Kalean, Lathan, and Abbigayle.

Rest easy, Poppy, you’ve earned it. Your presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but your spirit will continue to guide us through the dark times. Until we meet again, may you find peace in the eternal embrace of your maker and delight in your new home among the stars.
