Wanda Bailey Obituary

Wanda Faye Bailey, age 70, of Garrett, passed from this life on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.  Wanda was born on August 13, 1949 in Gunlock, Kentucky to the late Raleigh and Virgie (Hale) Shepherd. On July 15, 1967, Wanda married her high school sweetheart, Billy Bailey, who survives. Wanda was a member of Harbor of Love Baptist Church near Kendallville. She loved her church family and was lovingly called “The Green Bean Lady” for the wonderful green bean and potato casserole she made for church potluck carry-in dinners. Wanda looked forward to putting out her garden every year. She canned and froze the produce from her garden but also gave it away to anyone who wanted fresh vegetables. She was a wonderful cook. If you went to her house for dinner and left hungry, it was your own fault!  She was also an avid collector of angels and dolls. Wanda will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. She is at peace now with her heavenly Father where there is no more pain and no more worries of this world.
