Bernita Louise (Brock) Kimpel

Bernita Louise Kimpel, age 93, of Kendallville, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Woodview in Fort Wayne.  Mrs. Kimpel was born on OCtober 20 1923, in Huntington, to the late Joseph Omar Brock and Rosetta Bernice (Brock) Weaver.  She married her first husband Ralph Oberholtzer in Fort Wayne and he has preceded her in death.  She married Paul Henry Kimpel on July 12, 1985 in Hawaii and he has preceded her in death.  Bernita worked for St. Joseph Hospital as a unit secretary and Johnny Appleseed in Fort Wayne. Bernita retired from Community Living in Angola after 20 years of service as a Music Therapy Director.  She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville where she was very active.  Bernita enjoyed dancing, music, and working with children with special needs.  
Survivors include:
Daughter, Nancy and Don Frisby of Port Charolotte, Florida.
Daughter, Sandra and Bill Kumfer of Estero, Florida.
Daughter, Carol Erpelding of Cape Coral, Florida.
Son, Ralph and Cathy Oberholtzer of Churubusco.
Daughter, Cindy Reader of Fort Wayne.
16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren.
Sister, Delores Grimm of Muncie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, her second husband, her son; Joseph Oberholtzer,  grandson; Josh Frisby, sister; Virginia Gilchrist.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 11:00am-3:00pm at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street, Kendallville, Indiana 46755.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:00am at Hite Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 3:00pm.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Bob Shriner.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church.
