BETSY JEAN HAMBLIN, age 83, of Kendallville died on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla where she had resided the past two years.  Mrs. Hamblin was born in Lowville, New York on August 3, 1931 to the late William Joseph Hamblin and Sadie Josephine (Lawrence) Hamblin.  She graduated from Adams Center Central High School in New York in 1950 and moved to Kendallville in 1960.  Betsy was employed with Kraft Foods for 26 years before retiring October 1, 1994.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  She enjoyed feeding the birds and bird watching.  In her younger days and when she lived in the country, Betsy loved gardening and she would raise a huge garden every year.  She also loved Saturday morning breakfast with her son, Kent.

Survivors include: 
Son, Kent and Jackie Hamblin of Kendallville.
Grandchildren, Sydney and Austin Hamblin.
Sister, Lucille Shettleton of Carthage, New York.
Brother, John and Claydean Hamblin of Natural Bridge, New York.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Wilma Hutchins and Norma Murrock and her brothers, Larry Hamblin and Thomas Hamblin. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 5:00-7:00pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville with a prayer service at 7:00pm.  

Funeral services and burial will take place in near her hometown in Copenhagen, New York in the spring.
