Charles Bostwick Thacker

Charles Bostwick Thacker, age 74, of Big Turkey Lake, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 6, 2016.  He was born March 19, 1942 in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Buster Bostwick and Luanna (Combs) Mullins.  His family moved to the Wolcottville and Stroh area in 1949.  Charles graduated from Salem Center High School in 1960 and at 18 years old, entered the United States Army, serving his country in France and Germany from 1960-1967.  When he returned from the service, Charlie started driving truck for a living.  He was a truck driver for more than 50 years and has driven all across the United States many times.  He was last employed with Fairmount Mobile Homes.  In 1972, he married Sandra Jane Adams at the Justice of the Peace in Howe.  Sandra preceded him in death in 1992.  Charlie was a member of the Orland American Legion Post 423 and life member of the Angola V.F.W.

Surviving relatives include: Aunt, Janet Breshare of Kentucky; cousin, Vickie Shots of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; step aunt: Louise Mullins of Wolcottville.  Charlie was preceded in death his brother, Michael Mullins; and step aunt and uncle: Lorena and Duke Mullins and Arthur Mullins.

Graveside funeral services will take place Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at Woodruff Cemetery in LaGrange County officiated by Rev. Willie Collins.  Arrangements entrusted to Hite Funeral Home of Kendallville.  Send a condolence at www.hitefuneralhome.com.
