Forest Dean Bowen

Forest D. Bowen, age 87, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his residence.  Mr. Bowen was born on April 11, 1929 to the late Virgil and Myrtle (Wyman) Bowen.  Forest graduated from Oblong High School, Oblong, Illinois and continued his education at Valparaiso Tech in Indiana.  He served his country honorably with the United States Air Force for four years.  On January 1, 1949, he married the love of his life, Patsy Reasor at their home in Martinsville, Illinois.  Forest worked for IBM as a field engineer for 32 years before retiring.  He loved to hunt and fish, mushroom hunt and above all spend quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Spouse, Patsy Bowen of Fort Wayne.
Son, Steve and Maria Bowen of Anderson.
Daughter-in-law, Tina Bowen of Avilla.
Grandson, Nathanael and Sarah Bowen of Fort Wayne.
Grandson, Jonathan and Sara Bowen of Elkhart.
Granddaughter, Stephanie Bowen of Fort Wayne.
Granddaughter, Sharon Bowen of Fort Wayne.
Grandson, Jacob and Amanda Bowen of Laotto.
Granddaughter, Christa and Joshua Hulbert of Avilla.
12 great-grandchildren.  

Forest was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Bowen and brother, Eugene Bowen.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
