JANICE EARLENE DELONG, age 76, of Big Turkey Lake, LaGrange died on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Gulfside Hospice, while wintering in New Port Richey, Florida.  Mrs. DeLong was born in Hicksville, Ohio on August 7, 1938 to the late Earl Mickelson and Edna Mae (Bailey) Kilpatrick.  She graduated from Riverdale High School, St. Joe, Indiana in 1956.  She married Robert Gene DeLong on January 10, 1960 at the United Brethren Church in Newville, Indiana.  Janice was employed with Kraft Foods in Kendallville for 30 years before retiring in 1998.  She loved spending time with her family and especially time with her grandchildren.  Bob and Janice did a lot of traveling around the country over the years and they would often take one of their grandchildren with them.  They managed to take each one of their grandchildren on a special vacation.  Janice enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts, sewing, tending to her flowers, clipping coupons and going to the casinos.  They spent many summers enjoying camping at Gordon's Campground.  She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Avilla where she was active with the Methodist Women and as a youth leader.  She also belonged to the Swan Swingers Home Demonstration Club.

Survivors include: 
Her husband of 55 years, Robert DeLong of Big Turkey Lake near LaGrange. 
Daughter, Vanita Agee of Kendallville.
Son, Charles "Chuck" DeLong of Big Turkey Lake.
Daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Harding and her friend, Ed Rasler both of Big Turkey Lake.
Daughter, Deandra "Ann" and Matthew Ellis of Auburn.
8 grandchildren: Jimmy Agee, Daniel Agee, Derek Agee, Mackenzie Bolinger, Martha Harding, Lydia Harding, Khoven Ellis, and Klaire Ellis.  7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Delmer "Bud" Mikelson and William "Bill" Mickelson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 2:00-8:00pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11:00am at Hite Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

Casketbearers will be her grandsons, Jimmy, Daniel, Derek, Mackenzie and Khoven; granddaughter, Lydia Harding; son-in-law, Matthew Ellis; and Les Yoder.
