ROBERT A. SHERER, 87, died on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Kingston Care of Fort Wayne.  Mr. Sherer was born in Wolf Lake, Indiana on August 20, 1928 to Howard and Dorothy (Iden) Sherer.  He was first was married to Patricia Eileen Harvey on July 22, 1950. She preceded him in death on April 25, 1974.  He was later married to Bonnie Eileen Bishop on July 31, 1977 in Fort Wayne.  Robert was employed in the maintenance department at Kraft Foods in Kendallville for 42 years before retiring in 1988.  He also was a lifetime farmer in Allen Township, Noble County until his retirement.  

Survivors include: 
His wife, Bonnie Sherer of Fort Wayne.
Sons, Larry and Debbie Sherer of Fort Wayne.
Son, Tom and Sue Sherer of Kendalville.
Son, Roger Sherer of Bluffton.
Son, Robert K. "Bob" Sherer of Los Angeles, California.
Step daughter, Rene and Rick Filkens of Fort Wayne.
Son-in-law, Steve Allen of Shelbyville, Indiana.
Eight grandchildren: Jennifer and Tracy Long of Zionsville; Patricia and Luke Scheidler of Zionsville; Nathan and Sandra Sherer of Kouts, Indiana; Adam and Tina Sherer of Los Angeles, California; Lisa and Tim Laur of Avilla; Laura and Adam Tallent of Fort Wayne; Megan Allen of Apollo Beach, Florida; Nicholas Allen of Austin, Texas.
Six step grandchildren: Luana and John Cunningham of Grabill; Laurie Johnston of Fort Wayne; Matt and Bekah Brooks of Bluffton; Heather and Kerry Foster of Albion; Hollie and Rob Sutton of Fort Wayne; and Nicolas Filkens of Fort Wayne.
12 great grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren, and 6 step great-great grandchildren. 

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Allen, February 15, 2013; step daughter, Penne Brooks, March 22, 2002; step son, Lanny Fry, November 30, 2004; step grandson, David Fry.

Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at Sweet Church near Albion with one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Officiating the funeral service will be Fr. James Stoyle.
Burial will be at Sweet Cemetery near Albion.
Memorial donations may be made to Sweet Church Organization.
