I'm truly sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. I had the honor of meeting him only once while on a family visit to attend he and Paula's 50th wedding anniversary, however I have fond memories of how very kind he was in allowing me to peruse through his encyclopedias and various books in search of a way (if any) to bring the enchanting lighting bugs I saw for the first time while visiting Indiana back to California! His loving spirit and generous nature will be deeply missed and our hearts forever. My most sincere condolences.

Today my thoughts and prayers are with you. Had planned to be at Mass today, but it is not possible, so hope this message will get to you. So many memories of Charlie and Paula, how nice and fun they were to Craig and me. Craig and Charlie were not only cousins, but really good friends too. I am sure Craig was there with Paula to greet him in heaven on Friday. Hold on to your memories and take care of each other. He was so proud of all of you and loved you so much Love Nan Taylor

This message is from the Greene family who cannot be there physically today to honor your loving memory and say our good-byes but we are truly there in spirit with you and all of your wonderful family which is a source of great pride for you.

Although you were my brother-in-law you were really the brother I never had. We lived together, laughed together, made trips together and am forever grateful for introducing me as a young man to the mystique of Notre Dame and the Fighting Irish. Until me meet again, Go Irish!

Dear Kevin & Ronda, Claudia & Laura, and Charles & Julie,

Kevin spoke a great deal to me about his dad over the years. Although I never had the pleasure to meet Mr. Knott, I felt that I knew him from afar. Please accept my deepest condolences.

In gassho,
Randall Nishiyama

I was so sad yesterday when I heard that Charlie had passed away!! He was such an awesome person!!! I will forever treasure the memories of going to a Notre Dame game with him, Tom and Joe Hornett and my Dad. He would alway get a Notre Dame program so he could later staple his ticket to it. Watching him and Paula together was always such a joy. I loved hearing his stories of when he was in the navy. He was a true gift. My condolences to the entire Knott family. He loved you all dearly and was so proud of all of you.

My grandfather and my best friend. I will truly miss you so much. You gave me such a wonderful gift in this life. To experience the care and love of a grandparent was beyond anything I could of asked for - and in your last hours of life You have given me one of the most intense spiritual experiences that I am forever grateful for. I'll always remember after every trip to the legion on our way home us reaching for each other's hand and reminding you that you can never leave me. I know you never will.
And in the words of St Francis -
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

I have such wonderful memories of our Charlie . . .from the years he joined us on the floats for the American Legion Post 111 in Louisville CO in his very handsome Budweiser suit to our dancing together on New Year's Eve to bring in 2015 to the last few weeks we had together sharing many laughs and lots of love! I am looking forward to continuing on with many more memories with his CO family at the Legion he so embraced. We will keep his memory going with his wonderful stories. We love you, Charlie "Blue" Knott. I am sure you are dancing away with your beautiful Paula forevermore. Lots of love and blessings, Lyn Townshend
