I am a 1994 graduate of Anderson University. I just found out today of Dr. Jeran's passing and was very saddened by the news. He worked so hard and diligently in the education department. It was an honor and privilege to serve under him as the Anderson University president of Kappa Delti Pi (the Education Honors Society) during my schooling. It was also a joy getting to know him personally as a dear, sweet, kind, and caring man when he led me and fellow education majors on a trip to the Cayman Islands to work with Triple C School. I will always remember Dr. Jeran with fondness and heartwarming memories. May we all forever treasure his legacy of commitment, compassion, and caring; and may God continue to guide and comfort you at this time. God bless you. Sincerely, Mrs. Kristy (Fife) Rewey

Dear Miriam and Family,
My sincere condolence to you. You are in my prayers and thoughts.
I worked with Dan for eleven years at Anderson University. I respect him as a gentle person. He came to California after we moved and we were honored to host him in our house. It was a fun gathering.
I will miss him.

We never had the opportunity to meet Dr. Jeran, or Grandpa Jeran, as Marissa calls him, but from what others have said about him, he was a fine, kind and gentle man. We know that Marissa, and the family, will feel the loss for some time.

It's Saturday, April 25 and I just found out about Dan. I am so sorry. He was a friend, a colleague, and a mentor! Dan was such a gentle soul. I think I only saw him angry once or twice in the time that I knew him. I am so sorry for your loss but God has a wonder person living with him now. Prayers for you and your family.

Miriam and family,
Our paths didn't cross often enough., but did enjoy always being in yours and Dan's company. As cousins, should have stayed in touch more than we were able to.
Miriam, we're so sorry for your lost. Dan was a good man, an interesting man. God bless.

I always looked upon Dr. Jeran as my guardian angel. He was such a kind man and I loved working with him while I was in Lawrence Township in partnership with AU. Dan brought me to Anderson University and was so encouraging to me in my new career as a college professor. He will always be a very special person to me. My thoughts and prayers are with his loving wife and family.

I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Jeran at Azusa Pacific back in 1978. He was Donna's father and Donna was my study partner, best friend and Maid of Honor. Mr. Jeran had such a kind and gentle spirit but mostly I remember the twinkle in his eye. I see so much of him in Donna. I am so grateful that we were able to attend Marisa and Johns wedding last year and to see Donna's family. Mr. Jeran looked exactly as I remembered him still with the same twinkle in his eye. The world has lost a beautiful man but his spirit will forever live on in his children, his grandchildren, and the many lives he touched.

Hymn 276 Verse 2 O Thou God of peace, be near us, Fix within our hearts Thy home;
With Thy bright appearing cheer us, In thy blessed freedom come.
Come with all Thy revelations, Truth which we so long have sought; Come with Thy deep consolation, Peace of God which passeth thought.

Love and prayers, Doris Brandts

Dear Miriam and family,

It was with sadness that I read on Facebook this afternoon of the passing of Dan. We send you our heartfelt love, prayers and sympathy. I, Nancy learned to know Dan before you were married and then when you lived in Des Moines. I am sure you will all miss him greatly but are comforted by the fact that he is with his maker and you have the hope of spending eternity with him.

I only met Dan once, at the wedding of my nephew John and Dan's granddaughter Marissa. I was immediately struck at his kindness, gentle soul, and curious nature. I felt immediately at ease talking to him, and he generously invited me to visit him and his wife Miriam at their home - another sign of his inclusive and loving character. While I didn't know him well, I do know he will be missed greatly by his friends and family. My condolences to all.
